Animal Court Solitaire (the “app”) is made by Batteries Included, LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It covers the Android and iOS versions of the app.

Summary of key points

This summary is a shortcut. The sections below are the full policy, and they control if anything differs.

  • No account, no personal details asked. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or permission to use your location.
  • Your game stays on your device. Games in progress, settings, and achievements are stored on your device. We do not run a server that stores them.
  • Ads in the free version. A full-screen ad can appear between games. Ads come from Google AdMob, which uses your device's identifiers (and an approximate location from your IP address) to choose and measure ads. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland we ask for your consent first. In some US states you can opt out of personalized ads in Settings → Ad privacy options. On iOS, Apple asks whether the app may track you.
  • Purchases. Remove Ads and character packs are paid through Google Play or the App Store. RevenueCat confirms them using an anonymous ID.
  • Analytics and crash reports. Firebase Analytics counts how features are used, and only turns on if you are outside the regions that require consent or you allow it. Firebase Crashlytics reports crashes. Neither includes your name or anything you type.
  • Remove Ads stops ads and the ad consent form. The app still checks your consent status once at startup to decide whether analytics may run.
  • We do not sell your personal information for money. See “US state privacy laws” for how personalized ads are treated under some state laws.

Who is responsible for your information

Batteries Included, LLC is the data controller for information collected through the app.

What we collect and why

Information stored only on your device

WhatWhy
Your current game, settings (card style, draw count, scoring, motion, celebration options), equipped character packSo you can pick up where you left off
Achievement and trophy progressTo unlock trophies and rewards

This information stays on your device. We cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes it.

Purchases

When you buy Remove Ads or a character pack, the purchase is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never receive your payment details. Their privacy policies apply to the payment.

To confirm what you own (including when you tap Restore purchases), the app uses RevenueCat, which receives:

  • an anonymous ID generated for this install (not linked to your name or email),
  • your purchase history for this app (which products, when, and the store receipt), and
  • basic device and app information (such as platform, OS version, app version, country, and language).

Why: to provide what you paid for, restore it on a new device, and prevent fraud.

Ads (free version only)

The free version shows a full-screen ad at a break between games (never in the middle of a game). Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect:

  • your device's advertising ID (Google Advertising ID on Android; on iOS, the IDFA only if you allow tracking),
  • IP address, device type, operating system, app version, and approximate location derived from your IP address, and
  • information about the ads shown and your interaction with them, and
  • on Android, Google's ad software may also use Android's Privacy Sandbox ad services (such as interest topics and ad attribution) where your device offers them. Those are controlled in your device's ad settings.

Why: to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and (where you allow it) personalize ads.

Consent:

  • EEA, UK, and Switzerland: before ads load, the app shows Google's consent form so you can choose whether your data is used for personalized ads. You can change your choice any time in Settings → Ad privacy options.
  • iOS: the app asks for permission to track through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, ads still appear but are not personalized with the IDFA. You can change this in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID, and limit Privacy Sandbox ad services, in your device's ad settings. The exact menu depends on your device and Android version (look under Settings → Privacy → Ads, or search Settings for “ads”).

The app asks Google for ads rated no higher than “T” (teen).

Usage analytics

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used, for example how many players open the character picker, view a purchase sheet, or see a seasonal banner. It collects:

  • events we define (fixed labels such as which screen or pack was involved — never anything you type),
  • an app instance ID created by Firebase,
  • device model, operating system, app version, language, and approximate country/region, and
  • on Android, how the app was installed (the Google Play install referrer), if available.

Analytics does not collect your advertising ID.

Why: to improve the app and decide what to build next.

Consent: analytics is off when the app starts. It turns on only if you are outside the regions where consent is required, or if you allow analytics in Google's consent form (EEA, UK, and Switzerland). If you decline, no analytics data is collected. You can change your choice in Settings → Ad privacy options.

Crash reports

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash and error reports, including:

  • the stack trace and a short, fixed description of what failed,
  • device model, operating system, app version, free memory and disk space, and orientation, and
  • a Crashlytics installation ID.

Crash reports never include your name, anything you type, or purchase details.

Why: to find and fix bugs.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, microphone or camera data, or health information. The app does not have chat or user-generated content.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply.

You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Ad privacy options. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with the service providers that run parts of the app:

ProviderWhat they doTheir privacy policy
Google (AdMob, User Messaging Platform)Ads and the consent formpolicies.google.com/privacy
Google (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics)Usage analytics and crash reportsfirebase.google.com/support/privacy
RevenueCat, Inc.Verifying and restoring purchasesrevenuecat.com/privacy
Google Play / Apple App StorePayments, downloadsGoogle, Apple

These providers are contractually required to protect information they process for us at least as well as this policy describes. Google's ad partners may also receive information when you consent to personalized ads; the consent form lists them.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a sale or merger of the business (in which case this policy continues to apply).

US state privacy laws, including California

Using information to personalize ads can count as “selling” or “sharing” personal information (cross-context behavioral advertising) under California law and similar laws in other states, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah.

Your right to opt out: in the free version, open Settings → Ad privacy options (shown where it applies) to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for personalized ads. You can also turn off ad personalization on your device (Android: delete or reset your advertising ID; iOS: don't allow tracking), or buy Remove Ads, which stops ads entirely.

California residents also have the right to:

  • know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose (this policy describes it);
  • request deletion or correction of personal information (see “Your choices and rights” for what we can find, since the app has no accounts);
  • not be discriminated against for using these rights. Opting out doesn't change the game; ads may just be less relevant.

In the last 12 months, the app collected these categories of personal information, as described above: identifiers (advertising ID for ads, app instance ID, anonymous purchase ID, IP address), commercial information (purchase history), internet or other electronic activity (in-app events and ad interactions), approximate location derived from IP address, and device information. We disclose them to the service providers listed above, and to Google and its ad partners for advertising. We do not collect sensitive personal information. To make a request, email contact@batteriesincluded.io. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask them to show your permission.

Cookies and similar technologies

The app does not use browser cookies. The ad and analytics services above store identifiers and settings on your device (for example your advertising ID, a Firebase app instance ID, and your consent choices) and read them to work. These identifiers are described in the sections above; you can reset or limit them with the device controls listed under “Your choices and rights”.

Links to other sites

The app opens your browser or email app when you choose “Privacy policy” or “Contact support”. We are not responsible for other sites' practices; read their policies.

International transfers

Our providers are based in the United States and process data there and in other countries. Where required, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Google), or Standard Contractual Clauses (RevenueCat, including the UK Addendum and Swiss adjustments).

How long information is kept

InformationHow long
Game data, settings, achievementsOn your device until you delete the app
Firebase Analytics14 months for user-level data; aggregated reports may be kept longer
Crashlytics crash reports90 days
RevenueCat purchase recordsFor as long as needed to provide your purchases, per RevenueCat's policy
AdMob dataPer Google's retention policies
Emails to usUp to 2 years after your last message, so we can follow up on earlier issues

Your choices and rights

Choices in the app and on your device:

  • Change ad consent: Settings → Ad privacy options (shown where the consent form applies).
  • Stop tracking on iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Reset or delete your advertising ID on Android in device settings.
  • Remove ads completely: buy Remove Ads.
  • Delete on-device data: delete the app.

Your rights: depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or some US states), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email contact@batteriesincluded.io.

Because the app has no accounts, each install gets new random IDs, and we do not collect your name or email, we usually cannot tell which data in our providers' systems belongs to you. We will not collect extra information just to identify you. If you contact us, we will tell you what we can and cannot find. Data tied to an old install that we cannot link to you expires on the schedule above. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device and stops further collection from it.

Purchase records are linked to your Google Play or Apple account. You can ask Google or Apple about the data they hold, and we can ask RevenueCat to delete purchase records you identify to us (for example, with an order number from your purchase receipt).

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The app is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will help delete it.

Do Not Track

The app does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because it is not a browser. It does respect your device's ad-tracking settings described above.

Security

We limit what we collect, keep game data on your device, and rely on providers that use encryption in transit and industry-standard security. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If the change is significant (for example, collecting a new type of information), we will also tell you in the app or in the store release notes.
